Shauna

Shauna is originally from Southern New Hampshire and has had a lifelong love for animals and the outdoors. Growing up horseback riding helped foster her passion for animal care and inspired her to pursue a career working with animals. She began her Animal Science studies at UMass Amherst in 2023 and is on track to graduate in 2027 with a pre-veterinary science degree. With her sights set on veterinary school, Shauna has several interviews lined up as she takes the next step toward achieving her dream of becoming a veterinarian.

Shauna’s professional interests include animal welfare and conservation, and she hopes to one day become a wildlife veterinarian. She is passionate about making a difference in the lives of animals, both domestic and wild, and is excited to continue learning and growing in the veterinary field.

Family and animals have always been a big part of Shauna’s life. One of six siblings, she shares her home with four dogs and a Holland Lop rabbit named Sharknado! Her pack includes Lucky, a 13-year-old rescue; Skippy, a 12-year-old rescue; Loki, a 7-year-old Black Lab/Great Dane rescue; and Maverick Leo, a 5-year-old Golden Retriever. Shauna also enjoys pet sitting for some of our doctors and other clients, extending her love and care for animals beyond the clinic.

When she’s not studying or spending time with her furry family, Shauna enjoys hiking, photography, birdwatching, reading, and attending concerts. She especially loves New England and believes there’s nothing quite like fall in New England!

Shauna is excited to be part of a team that shares her passion for animal care and looks forward to making a positive impact on the lives of pets, wildlife, and the people who love them.
